Acupuncture

The practice of inserting fine needles into the body at specific
points for the treatment of certain health problems. Noted for its
safety and effectiveness, acupuncture has been a mainstay of
Chinese medicine for over 2,000 years. In the past three decades,
electromagnetic research has confirmed the existence and location
of the more than 1,000 known acupuncture points.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
The main treatment method of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It utilizes natural substances such as leaves, roots, bark, flowers, fruit, and minerals. Depending on your treatment needs, Laura combines approximately 12-15 different herbs in an individualized formula that is designed to treat the whole person. Laura has a full in-house pharmacy at VIDA Family Medicine of more than 250 powdered Chinese herbs.
Moxibustion
Heat therapy done by burning the herb Ai Ye (mugwort) on or over specific areas of the body.
Nutrition & Lifestyle Counseling
Addresses areas of the diet and lifestyle that can optimize health and aid in recovery from illness.
Shiatsu Massage
Japanese acupressure technique that is great for relaxation and for health maintainence.
Cupping
Glass cups create a vacuum which is then applied to the skin. It feels like a massage and acts as a myofascial release.
